MEMORY

Common of a Virgin

 ENTRANCE ANTIPHON

Vigilant and faithful, Alexandrina of Balasar

 kept her lamp lighted to meet Jesus.

 

COLLECT PRAYER  

Merciful God who, made shine Blessed Alexandrina’s example in Church, intimate united to the Passion of Your Son so that, all around the world it develop the Eucharistic cult and the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, grant us, for her intercession, that we became the Holy Spirit address and authentic witnesses to You Love.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is God with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

 

 PRAYERS ABOUT THE OFFERINGS

Grant us, Lord, the fruits that we offer you so that, following Alexandrina’s example, purified by the old land men, let us grow in the new life of the heavenly men. Through our Lord.

 

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Lord, our God who, gives us strength with these divine mysteries grant that, following Blessed Alexandrina’s example, always to take into our bodies the sufferings of Christ, we live only for you. Though our Lord.

Reading I                                                                         Ephesians 6, 10-13.18

«Put on the armor of God »

Brother,

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

That day, says the Lord, I will make you my wife forever; betroth thee according to justice and right, with love and mercy. Betroth you to me in faithfulness and you shall know the Lord. "

Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ according to Matthew 

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
